Original Fine Art in Oundle At Hunter Fine Art we present commissioned and original fine art which has been created by contemporary British Artist Robert Hunter. With experience in exhibiting both internationally and nationally, Hunter has had his work hung alongside world-class artists including David Hockney, Andy Goldsworthy, Quentin Blake, Paula Rego, and Antony Gormley. A variety of his work has been featured at renowned art institutions such as The ICA, Saatchi & Saatchi, Royal Watercolour Society at Bankside Gallery , and Whitechapel Open.
Now based in Oundle and the surrounding Northamptonshire area, the artist uses the picturesque rural setting as inspiration for his current works. Depicting nature and the atmospheres of changing time, his work displays figurative pieces with determined brushstrokes and a powerful sense of light (The Dolby Gallery).
Oil and Watercolour Paintings in Oundle Robert Hunter paints with watercolour and loosely with oil, sketches in pencil and pastel, and takes photographs across the Oundle area. He has been using the mediums for over 20 years and has trained professionally as both a film maker and painter. His photographs aim to depict history, portraiture and other subjects.
More recently he has begun to work with large monotypes of architectural detailing and harness printmaking processes to record the details and textures of local buildings.
Notable Partnerships and Events Over the years Hunters original fine art and drawings have been displayed nationally and internationally. He has worked hard to develop collaborations with other artists and art centres, including the Tate Modern and Saatchi Gallery. Working in collaboration with renowned Pop Artist Sir Eduardo Paolozzi on the restoration of his sculpture for the 20th Century British Sculpture exhibition at The Tuileries Garden, Paris is a particular highlight.
